Looking for a Fun Fall Family Activity?

Collect your yard’s leaves and create memorable keepsakes with just 4 easy steps using my Floral Preservation Kit.

Flowers can evoke powerful memories and emotions. Red roses from your first love. White gardenias when you marry your soulmate. Tulips on Mother’s Day. Lilies at the passing of a loved one. It was the loss of my great-grandmother that prompted me to establish The Floral Preservation Co., a method, keepsake album, and new tradition for preserving floral memories.

One of my great-grandmother’s flowers was from my mom, who had spent a summer with her and picked her a fresh flower before the journey home. The memory was vivid to her and took her back to that moment and filled her with joy. I want to help people commemorate these milestone memories and occasions.

I LOVE this time of year when the leaves are falling and changing to vibrant colors. Where I am from St. Louis, burnt oranges and bright yellows are starting to pop up in foliage all over. What a perfect time to create a Weekend Family Activity, using The Floral Preservation Co. kit! My family-friendly activity idea and a kit that can be used to make the colors last.

With just a few simple steps, in this quick and easy process using beautiful dried leaves, you can create family memories that will last a lifetime.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic we have had a lot of time in the house with family. Collecting those fall leaves makes for the perfect excuse to get the whole family together outside. But what do you do with them after? I have found a way to give those leaves and flowers extra life, with my The Floral Preservation Co.’s floral preservation kit, which was developed in partnership with Leading Event & Entertaining Expert, David Tutera.

I suggest explaining to kids why leaves change color and make it fun by asking them to try to find the largest leaf, the smallest leaf, the most orange leaf, and so on. Preserving the leaves also gives kids a lesson in appreciating and respecting nature and the environment.

The kit comes with directions, quick-dry papers, reusable drying boards, holding clips, wrapping cord, special finishing spray, and shaping tweezers. “Fall leaves just need 30 seconds in the microwave before using the kit,” explains Rinne, then you seal them with a finishing spray to be placed in keepsakes, child art, cards for grandparents, or even Thanksgiving tablescapes. It’s a personal gift that store-bought fall décor can’t compete with.

There is all of this beauty that is free, and you don’t get any better than real fall flowers and leaves!

Follow the easy steps below to create your own art and enjoy the Fall season with your family!

STEP 1: Buy canvas for family art project and some art supplies of choice.

STEP 2: Gather your family and go out and gather your favorite leaves.

STEP 3: Preserve your leaves with the Floral Preservation kit (15 seconds in the microwave until preserved)

STEP 4: Create your own art and enjoy your family project!! Great for fall gifts for family and friends.

The quick and easy process, which involves microwaving the flowers, then sealing them with a spray, preserves the flowers and retains far more of their vibrant colors than pressing them in a book.

The Floral Preservation Kit includes microwave directions, quick dry papers, reusable drying boards, holding clips, wrapping cord, a special finishing spray, and shaping tweezers. Also available is a floral keepsake album consisting of air-tight sleeves to store the dried flowers, an additional 4 X 6 sleeve for a photo of the event/memory and a notecard to journal about the special moment.
